2003 TXT Whitish smoke after adding oil
Newbie here. I bought a 2003 TXT a few months back. It is lifted and primarily used in a desert environment around my trailer in Yuma.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I never checked the oil. The cart ran awesome. It was used by my teenage girls for hours at time. One day, they returned from a ride and it sounded like the valves were making noise. The cart still ran great, just a little noisier than I was used to. I pulled the dipstick and no oil registered on the stick. I got sick to stomach and thought there was permanent damage. I added one quart, and it barely registered. I added another half qt and it registered perfect. Then after driving, white/light blue smoke began spewing out the exhaust. The cart still runs good, just a lot of smoke. I have since learned that the cart only holds 1.6 qts. Is this true. If so, how could I have added 1.5. Also, not sure if this is related. Can anyone tell me if the two small vacuum/vent lines coming off the carb connect to anything. Not sure if I knocked them off, but they are just hanging straight down, not connected to anything. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 2003 TXT Whitish smoke after adding oil
The two lines are vents so the connect to nothing on one end , smoke wise the oil is overfull , you need to take the triangle cover off by the clutch thats the filter and drain port and drain the oil and clean the screen , also make sure the seal is still good then add 1.5 quarts of oil and mark your dipstick , lifted carts change the angle of the engine so the dipstick will always be incorrect until you mark it where it should be with a file.

Thanks for help. I bought a tune up kit online that includes a new filter and o-ring. I'll do that and see how it goes.
