Clean the air box then take the air filter off and run it. If the smoke clears then something is causing oil to come into the air box. Either too much oil in the crankcase or blow by from the rings.

is the oil coming through the crankcase vent line that comes into the airbox from the side of the block?

Have no idea how the oil is getting in to the air box but assume it's from worn rings and blow by. Will check and see if their is an engine vent hose going in to the carb box and disconnect it and plug hole in box as temp fix.

Did you measure oil you put in or fill till full on stick? Didn't I read that the lift either makes it read fuller or something and causes it to blow it out the vent pipe?

we already cover oil capacity, don't plug the crankcase vent......just unhook the line from the air filter housing and see if it flows out of it.

It has exactly 1.5 Qts in it now and is not having the serious problem but does have blow by and burns a little oil that u can smell. I believe the problem was oil coming thru the breather pipe to carb box and getting in to carb causing all the smoke. Probably due to over filling? Fixed it for now. Rebuilt engines cost $600 fob Mo. Expensive ring job but will need it sometime soon. Maybe Fall?

find a local engine shop, the should be able to acquire the correct rings, hone it and reassemble for reasonable price.

Great idea on the mainland but on Kauai there is no such thing as reasonable and it's very hard to find anyplace to do any machine work in any reasonable period of time. Especially if the surfs up! Of it's raining! Or the sun is out! Or it's a bad hair day! Or they're behind because of all the other "ors" .
When u do find a shop they rip u off! Dollars look like dollars at home but spend like Yen here.
