Default Which battery? and wiring questions

The guy I bought my cart from had an everstart battery in it. I installed four speakers and a small amp with a switch. I am pretty sure the switch was left on so now I have a bad battery. I tried charging it and it wont hold a charge.

My question is - what is the best battery I can buy to run my cart as well as speakes and light bars, plus my 25gallon sprayer on the back.

Next question: I think I need to wire in some relays for the speakers and light bars but have no clue how that works. what purpose does a relay serve?

No battery should fail to charge just from being discharged unless it was bad to begin with or left dead for a looooooong time. I would see if you can find a place for a second battery and do what I did on my pontoon boat. Install an isolator, it allows the two batteries to be used independently so it will never drain your stater battery but charges both when the ignition switch is on. I used one battery for starting the motor and the other for lights, radio, trolling, etc.
