Default Yamaha G9 Gas with lift

If I turn in the 10mm nut on the governor to get more speed, do I also loose low end tork?
I have a decent hill going up to my shop maybe 100' long on a good angle, but half way up the cart struggles with 2 adults in it.

Governor does not affect torque at all, only limits max allowable road speed.

I would greatly recommend getting a secondary clutch kit from Don Plowmans. Look at the site sponsor list. Best upgrade I ever did for hills.

I would recommend you clean and lube the clutches and check them out for issues. Get a new belt if needed. When the belt is 1 inch wide it must be replaced, sooner if a lifted cart. A stock G2/9 will go up a pretty steep hill with two people if everything is working correctly. If lifted you should run a umax spring at the least to gain back some torque.

If you have already taken the time to upgrade to a lift and tires then it would be best to upgrade your secondary clutch with a Plowmans clutch kit. Pull the stock stuff off that was meant to go with the stock tires and wheels and get yourself up the hill with the best stuff possible. You will not regret it.
