Default Dropped my swing arm

Just got them in and mounted.. need to take back out and paint them. 3.5" drop with 2.5" back.
Has anyone else dropped their G2/G9 stock motor? What did you do for the airbox mounts? Not really wanting to cut the factory mounts..

Nice job!!

Can't help with the air box, when I ran the stock engine in my G9, I didn't use the air box. K&N filter right on the carb.

It will make it louder, you can hear the carb better. Along with the K&N I re-jetted the carb and opened the muffler....ran good!!
It was one step closer to the Vanguard!

What's the purpose of lowering the motor?

This is a mod I want to do on my cart. With the 6" lift the swing arm is at an angle down now. This does two things 1-the rear axle is drawn forward in the wheel well and 2-the engine does not sit level anymore and these are splash lubricating motors and the oil is to the rear of the motor now.

Maxim, if you only have those drop brackets bolted at the top, I have to suggest that you brace them in another place down toward the bottom. You could weld a tab at the bottom at an angle coming up too the big bolt going thru where the swing arm used too bolt on.

You don't realize how much torque there is on the swing arm brackets until you do like I did. I thought I did a good weld job with plenty of brace in the necessary areas. Until of course I took the cart out on the trails over a weekend camping trip and broke one side loose causing my clutch to hit the frame. (I have a much larger clutch than usual as well.)

I've since done better bracing and hopefully that will hold.

I like the idea off a bolt on kit though.

Smokin it has a bolt running through the factory mounts for the swing arm as well. My maintenance buddy that welded them up assured me they would hold.. famous last words.

The metal from the swingarm bolts should continue like a triangle to the top where the original bolt location was.

I'd change it up, if not these carts don't go too fast and I have limped home on one mount several times.

Dropping the front if the swingarm is excellent mod for a lifted cart
