May want to try something similar to this. I had speakers laying flat at one point and they aggravated me because the are like a bowl and catch everything. But I have seen others mount them there and be perfectly happy so I guess it's a judgement call. |

Re: Speakers on body facing up?
Not a Yamaha but similar setup. I can hear the 6x9's behind me just fine. In fact those are the only ones I really hear when driving. The 6.5's facing forward are really only noticeable outside of the cart.

Done. Looks good. Sounds good using a different amp for testing.

I would have put them on the black engine cover.

Re: Speakers on body facing up?
To drastically improve sound quality, buy a pair of the "buckets" to go behind them. Giving the speaker any sort of enclosure behind it (even a rather small "bucket" type thing) will improve sound quality a huge amount. I built this thing, it sounds horrible with the box open, much better with box closed.

Re: Speakers on body facing up?
Found these, I would use them, or something like it. Will also serve to protect speakers from dirt & road grunge on the bottom side of speaker. They're cheap too ($13).
Also found this other little box that looks real promising for cart use (it's more money) |
