Default Yamaha G8 rear end noise?

I’ll definitely pull it apart. I won’t give up until I’ve tried it. Where can I get a gasket?

Well this is bad- I replaced it with a good tested used rear end- it took all afternoon- and it’s still making the noise. Now what to do with this thing?

The noise is getting worse. It’s as bad as it was before the (difficult) rear end swap.

Has anyone ever gotten a lousy D&D motor?

It’s still there. Pretty annoying. I’m guessing D&D sold me a motor with a noisy bearing. It’s not worth the hassle at this point 4 months later.

Figured I'd update this- the noise was always there although it did get slightly quieter. I sold the cart. I have another Yamaha with a D&D motor that makes almost the same noise though, although quieter. I guess it's inherent to the motor/rear end combination...

Interesting!

I wouldn't think many people would want to have that going on with their golf car. I would think between the axle swap and then a completely different car, you would have been able to get rid of the issue.....

Does not make sense to me. There has to be a fix, I would think...
