Default Re: Solutions for Squeaky/Rickety Canopy(6-seater)??

more shots....

Side note: all I had was 5/16th hex bolts. Lowes Bin bolts. Seem kinda small/weak. Feel like if I torque too much might easily snap.
Think I need to up to 3/8” bolts? Or is that too fat for 1” square tubing.? Also don’t wanna kill the existing strut arm with too many holes

See page 4. If you need more than grade 2, 5/16" head head cap screws on your top struts you have other problems.

Thanks.

But the existing/factory ones were already 3/8". Might be because its a longer cart bigger canopy type deal.
I ended up going with 3/8" for the rest of the braces. Feels much less flimsy to me.

Now I m workin the front. Found some scrap aluminum tubing. I can squeeze a small piece of steel square tubing on the edge of the brushguard to make it flush with the existing top canopy/trim piece. But I only want to run 1 bolt through the brush guard.

I am really thinking of something I have done before but not really sure what its called. Basically just cut ….lets say a 1.5 inch spacer (3/8 I.D.) sideways with a hole saw.....to create an arch. So then I can just cut the spacer where the bottom of the arch is at 1 inch.....then I can mount with 1 bolt through the spacer(acting as a giant washer) , the tubing and brushguard. So just 1 bolt through the existing canopy hole and 1 at the brushguard.
Make sense? Better suggestions anyone?

If your brush guard is round tubing you could use something like this. They offer several sizes. I have bought a few to mount lights, etc on my brush guard.

GS Power Tube Bracket Clamp (choices of 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 / 3 inch ). Mount LED light bar Radio Antenna Safety Flag on Bull Bar Rack Roll Cage Bumper on Rhino Teryx Boat ATV Motorcycle (2 pc) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XZWYZ65..._2h.rBbM04B5PY
