Re: G29 transaxle issues
I can’t recall if mine does that or not when I replaced the clutch.
The cart isn’t close to me or I’d see what mine does. I honestly think u should very minimal slack |

Re: G29 transaxle issues
More than likely normal. Input shaft was a weak link. Just did one today as a matter of fact. Got another one to do in 2 weeks

Re: G29 transaxle issues
Early G29 is most likely to have the infamous "white tag" axle. It has a intermediate gear that was too soft, and is doomed to eventually fail. Since you would have to split the axle to do the input shaft, you will have the opportunity to check the other gears for "worn to a razor sharp edge". I mean it when I say razor sharp, it will slice you up real good, like use gloves when removing the shaft if it is worn.

Re: G29 transaxle issues
Is it a lubrication issue or just soft metal?

Re: G29 transaxle issues
The Yellow, blue and green "tag" axles had no such issues, same lube. Was a bad gear. They were "tagged" in that color order over the years. Shhhh....team admitted it... please read for mistake/redaction Oh wait..my bad. That was electric axles. I have had only 2 problems in gas Team axles. Governor problems (super worn/cut collar resulting in no governor function - all the speed, will result in big trouble later) and problem with AFTERMARKET 8:1 high speed gears sets (the latter was Exclusively the thin ring gear in the final drive portion). The second part cannot be blamed on Yamaha or Team.
