You cant see the bottom, but with this top bracket modification, the suspension works. Too shady?

The bolt in there now is just for representation...
Just my 2 cents but I would not operate it like that if it were me. It looks simple enough to have a welder/fabricator whip up a simple offset bracket welded to the tube frame. You are exerting too much force on the outer ear of that bracket. Maybe (and only maybe) if you were to fill in the gap of the existing bracket with something solid first, like a chunk of aluminum. Then run a grade 8 bolt all the way through the ears AND the chunk of metal, it would work but I would still only do that temporarily until you got a real fix fabricated. Otherwise you are going to bend the snot out of those bracket ears and likely just fold them over. They are designed to have force applied between them, not on the outside. Good luck!
