89' Marathon 2-cycle coil question
Hey guys!
Super sweet forum here and I was wondering after reading of the HEI conversions, etc... if there is an alternative for replacing a ignition coil. Mines shot, I'm pretty sure and I'm tight with a buck if you know what I mean! Anyway, just wondering if there is something than the $100 OEM coil out there? Thanks in advance |

Re: 89' Marathon 2-cycle coil question
If your replacing the igniter with the hei conversion then I would run a gm coil. one for a 4 or 6 cylinder of about the same year as the hei module should work fine.

Nah man, I think my ignitor is OK. I was just looking for something other than OEM on the coil side!
Thanks though |

Re: 89' Marathon 2-cycle coil question
I know guys have used car coils on the 2 stroke carts but i'm not sure what years. coils are measured in ohms of resistance and getting one thats the same as the one being replaced is the key.
