early to mid 80s 2 stroke single cylinder ex go does not have spark

i have had it for 3 years, it ran awesome until now, it has great compression, it turns over, but it does not have spark, me and my dad cannot figure it out, it gets fuel, carb is not plugged, it just doesn't have spark. Can someone please help.

Sorry I wish I could help. Mine has spark and runs in reverse but no spark and will not run forward. Still looking for the problem. If i find it i will sure post it here.
