Default Snubber Mod

Like all the other post I have read on here, my 6" lifted DS cart keeps losing the snubber. I am fabricating a drop bracket and get the engine back to level and also extending it so the snubber won't come off. However, when I lower the engine down level, the 1 1/2" air duct line that goes from the filter box to the carb hits the fuse box and almost flattens closed.

I am looking for ideas on how to rework the air duct. First thought was to put a 90 degree rubber or metal elbow at the carb, and a new 1 1/2" hose. Any thoughts? What have you done?

There is a briggs n straton intake elbow that with little modifacation fixes this issue, if you look back through my older post you'll see this chat with before and after pics and even the brigs part # to order one if you choose to go that route as well

Found it. That's what I was needing. Thank you

Next question: I checked ebay for the elbow, but none matched the part no. Will any of those 17.5 hp or single cylinder briggs elbows work?

I ordered mine through my local small engine shop that handles B&S, I think it cost around $11.00,
probably 4 or 5 more bucks then it would cost on eBay, but I got the exact part!

Got my front motor mount bracket fabricated and installed. It matches the factory one perfect except the part that sticks into the snubber (narrow and wide area) is 3/4" longer and it is 1" longer in the vertical direction. The 3/4" dimension pushes the snubber towards the frame more to keep it in place. I kept the original bolt pattern along with new holes 1" below them. The holes 1" below the original will get my engine back to almost perfectly level (the oil dipstick checks correctly). However, I put the original holes in my new bracket because I need to use my cart before I can get the intake elbow needed to make the air duct work correctly. So I guess you could say I built a standard/modified snubber bracket all in one. So far, I haven't had the snubber fall off in my off road testing.

I made an extra motor mount bracket if anyone wants to buy it. I will post pics of it when I get a chance.

That's actually an 1 1/4" 90 degree elbow that I got at Menards in the "irrigation" (plumbing/lawn sprinkler) section!

It worked perfect!
