Default 1986 Marathon vibration

Just bought my first cart a couple weeks ago, its a 1986 ezgo Marathon and so far I've changed the muffler, fuel filter, air filter, plug and added lights. It seems to run okay but had poor power going up hills with 2 people. I did some research on this site and there was recommendations to put on a shorter drive belt (44") which I did and this helped but the cart has bad vibration when going up any incline. Any ideas?

belt is slipping or a clutch problem, first thing to do is remove the belt and fire it up, see if it engages, if it does, try the factory belt, if the same problem is still there, check rearend oil, and motor mounts, a better belt could cause hell on the old mounts or it hasn't seen oil since 1990

Dont rev it too high without the belt on. It causes the pucks in the drive clutch to come out of the slots.

That is what my 86 Ezgo was doing had busted right motor mount, fixed and replaced motor monts and was still vibrating an now power. Replaced the driven clutch and what a big differance, power and speed increase and no vibration. That is what fixed mine hope this will help.
