Pulling. Will this work?
The campground where we camp allows carts so we haul ours on a 16' trailer every trip. There's not any decent BBQ pits at the park so I'm looking at buying one of the 4' trailers from harbor freight, mounting a smoker pit, and a propane burner on it. The plan is to use the cart to load/unload this pit-trailer onto my 16' trailer. The total weight of the trailer should be around 450-500 lbs and I plan on mounting the pit such that there will be fairly little tongue weight. Do y'all think the cart has enough power to pull that up onto the the 16'er? It is a stock fe290 with 6"lift and 12" wheels. I've never tried to pull any thing with it but it doesn't feel like it would pull very much. Thanks for any insight!

Re: Pulling. Will this work?
no question about it i've towed cars with my carts its just a matter of being easy on it to keep the cart in a lower gear. you may however want to get your driven clutch upgrade done by cpp if you have not done so already when you did the lift, it makes a considerable difference in way the cart will perform.

Re: Pulling. Will this work?
we have similar carts but mine is a 93' - after machined driven clutch and power spring by cpp - I can pull my snowmobile trailer (approx 500 lbs) up hill where I park it when not in use with ease. I like where you're going with this pit trailer....post pic's when complete.

I guess I should spend time searching but can you summerize what is removal process, cost, and down time to have this done?

Finally got around to putting together the pit trailer. It is very lightweight and the cart pulls it ok. I don't know how much more it could pull up in my trailer though. Here are a few pics.

Thanks. It was a fun winter project and I learned a lot as I've never welded before. I barrowed a buddy's welder and bought the trailer, tools and supplies from harbor freight. Here are a few pics.

That looks great! Neat idea, very versatile outfit. It would come in handy for most any kind of party at the lake, sporting event, hunting camp, etc. wherever a portable grill is needed at a remote location.
