No spark on G16A
I am not getting spark at the plug in my G16a. Flywheel a little rusty coil is a little rusty. any advice.

Disconnect the blue wire from the coil and crank to check for spark again. If you now have spark, the coil (and spark producing circuit) is ok. If still no spark, your coil (and spark producing circuit) is probably bad and will need to be replaced. The coil on the G16 contains all of the spark producing circuitry (including high voltage coil) and cannot be repaired. Hope this helps - RAY
PS - If you find that your coil is ok and you do have spark, you should check the stop relay circuit for problems. The blue wire is grounded by the stop relay contacts when it is de-energized. You should check the stickies (above) and make a copy of the wiring for your cart. That will be a big help. |
