Maybe small block or cgtech will refresh us on why the 2007-2015 ydr drive team transaxles arent as dependable as the previous g22 carts. Cant remember at this moment.

If you crank or flip the governor (ydra), it will munch the input shaft. Some people have troubles with clutches (i've seen some, but not epidemic). If you are looking for stock speeds (~15mph), the team axle will last a long time. High speed gears work good on fairly flat pavement cruising.

Am I correct in the 2010 is a YDR model and how do they differ from the G22. How does the Yamaha front suspension differ from that of a Club Car Precedent? Is the 2010 gas Yamaha fuel injected or carburetor ?

2007 was first year for "Ydr", also last year for "G22" (both were offered in '07). Ydr is a totally new frame (box steel, instead of round tube). Ydr shares a few suspension parts with G22, Ydr shares same engine as G22, Ydr does NOT share same transaxle. Ydr steering parts are cheaper than G22 to replace if the "lackeys" start smashing big immovable objects. G22 had better seat materials for extended outdoor life. All yamahas use "coil-over" shocks front and rear (a very good design, in my opinion). Fuel injection did not arrive until 2012.5, and they are still offered with a carb if you want as far as i know, but, we only order them with FI. Clubcar kawasaki engine has a odd balancing system that has been showing some problems (a big chunk of iron that hops up-and-down). Could be poor maintenence, they were fleet/service models. We see Very few clubcar gas. We are a yamaha, and ezgo dealer, the management doesnt even order any other gas cars, only yamaha. The clubcar front suspension is the transverse leafspring setup that is known to not hold an alignment. I have had to work on several, and am always disappointed when we get them in trade, as people who are new to clubcars are not happy about the tire wear.

Thank you very much cgtech for your information. I believe I will go take a look at the 2010 Yamaha . I have looked but can not find engine specs for the 2010 Yamaha. Is it a single piston or twin and how are they for reliability , performance ,etc.

One cyl. Air cooled 4cycle, 357cc. Yery reliable. 11.something hp. Best gas motor in the golf industry in my opinion.

Well I bought a Yamaha. Found a 2010 YDR gas in nice condition with low hours. Put a set of Claw 10x7 rims w/ Sahara Classic 20x10x10 tires and a Jakes 3" lift kit. Front basket is a Jakes sporting clays basket in my opinion way!! better than the Madjax basket only because of the brackets. Have been toying with a Plowman's clutch upgrade but a little apprehensive as I am not a mechanic. Anyway , this is my first cart and it is a blast to play with.
