Stop! That is wrong!

The original Bucket Harness for a Precedent is normally wired in 2 different ways:

1) The Blue wire is connected to +48v and a voltage reducer is installed on the front of the cart (underneath it). There is a place on the harness to separate the +48v that goes only to the converter and the 12v output from the converter to the rest of the front harness.

2) You can tap 16v or Install a voltage converter on the back of the cart (like you did). In this case the Blue wire gets connected to the +12v output of your converter.

Yes, the last connection before the light fixture that died. You should have roughly the same voltage as you got on the fuse block. Compare this reading with the lights that did not die.

Thanks for responding. I sure did misinterpret this one. In selecting #1 above, all I need to do is to disconnect the splice I made and leave the blue wire from the bucket harness connected to the #1 battery positive terminal (48v+). Is that correct? I've installed the 30 amp VR in the rear on a steel support for the rear seat. There really was no other suitable location, that I determined, for it on this CC.

Now what happens to the red wire from the VR? I am confused and so please bear with me. I need an education on this stuff.

Are the rears on a different electrical path from the fronts? Why didn't they blow as well?

Do I connect a wire directly from #4 battery negative post to the accessory? If so, where does this connection take place? I understand the diagram fully with this one exception.

Also, since I have a wire connected directly from the 12 (-) of the fuse block to the negative post of the #4 battery. Do I now just disconnect all together?

If You installed the voltage reducer on the back of the cart:

The Blue wire goes to the +12v output of the converter, or an empty fuse spot on your new fuse box.

That blue wire will provide all of the +12v power to the lights, brakes and anything else that is powered off the standard harness.

In your setup, the only thing that should be connected to +48v is the Red wire that goes to the voltage converter.

You do not need to run any extra wires for the front headlight or disconnect anything on the existing headlight switch, it is all already wired to work with the Blue wire having +12v.

If You add a radio or other +12v accessories, then You can run those positive wires to other circuits in the fuse holder.

It is reading 53.4 volts at the 6 pin connector. Of course, that is why the lights blew twice. I should have checked before I pulled the light switch knob. Lesson learned.

Thanks again Sergio for your patience. Should I use a rated amp fuse at this location on the fuse block? If so, what amperage?

You can use a 20 amp fuse in the fuse box for the circuit that you are connecting the Harness Blue wire to.

If anything, You may need to remove the existing inline fuse holder off the Blue wire or put a 20 amp fuse in it.

The original 10 amp fuse is sized for a 48v circuit since on the Precedents the converter is usually mounted up front.
