2006 precedent ds wont charge?
I have a 2006 club car precedent ds 48 volt electric I have all new batteries and just bought a solenoid. When I plug the charger in I get nothing. I have not charged the batteries this year yet. Could it be I need to put them on a charger and charge them or could it be something else? The golfcart charger doesn't show anything when I plug it in. Please help!

Re: 2006 precedent ds wont charge?
First off welcome to BGW!!
Either you have a DS or a Precedent they are two different carts. You said you have not charged the batteries this year but they are new, what does that mean please? Did you get the batteries like the other day new of last year new and never charged them over the winter? This is important because If it is just a matter that they were not charged over the winter most likely they are drained and the charger won't work until you get them up to a higher voltage, if this isn't the case then we need to try and figure out the large amount of other possibilities. Why did you replace the solenoid and is it a direct replacement for the 48 volt cart? Basically why I'm saying the more information you can provide in detail will help resolve your problem much quicker, otherwise it is very difficult to randomly guess at the issues. Mot trying to be a jerk here lol just need more details so we can help you. |

The reason I replaced the selenoid is because I tightened it to tight and broke both of the sides off.

If your charger came one then off within a minute it isn't working correctly, probably something is telling it to shut off like the OBC, so you have to input more information to help us help you. Can you take and post a picture of the cart? |

Connect the car charger to one battery at a time and use a volt meter to keep checking on them. When they get to 10 volts the cart charger should work. I think you should have 4 batteries 12 volts each. Also any time you work with the solenoid or anything electric on the cart you need to put the cart in tow and take the neg. battery cable off then the pos. cable off. If you have not done this you are very likely to burn out the controller. (Not good) |
