Lincoln Locker in 86 Marathon
Hello,
The kids are constantly getting our 1986 Marathon stuck in the mud and snow. Has anyone welded their spider gears together to create a spool type differential ? At home it is off pavement 100%. We take it to paved camp ground once or twice a year. Just wondering how bad it would turn on pavement with a Lincoln Locker installed. Thank You |

Welcone to BGW Wouldn't be to bad if you don't use sharp turns make them as wide as possible. As for welding the gears I would use 7018 stick if possible or a stainless rod. E70S6 mig wire will do it also. LOU

Re: Lincoln Locker in 86 Marathon
Thanks,
We always used 7018 in 2wd pickups when we used them for field trucks with good results. It is entertaining watching the kids learning recovery skills with a come along and tow straps though. |
