Default General clutch info

I did a search on "clutch" and read enough posts that my mind was jello. All of this in an attempt to avoid showing my ignorance but alas, I have to ask these questions anyway.

1. What is the part of the drive clutch called which pulls in at revs........it has the springs and weights in it?

2. Whatever that thing is called, what holds it on to the crankshaft?

3. I can't find "parts" for the drive clutch. Everything includes the crank shaft and S/G pulley....why?

The big plates are called sheaves.

The entire clutch assembly is held onto the crankshaft by a long bolt through the center.

The pulley is part of the clutch assembly. It doesn't separate.

Thanks

So, I can't replace the springs and weights?

If not, I guess I am looking at replacing the clutch, is the sale forum here the best way to go about getting a used one?

I'm thinking springs, and weights could be replaced if you can find them.

I was going to rebuild my my driven clutch. All it really needed was a good wash with the garden hose.

From your other information, I am not convinced that you have a clutch problem. I think you have an engine that is not making enough power to operate the clutch.
