I am not positive, but It does have 5 canisters behind the batteries, so I assume that would be the 5 solenoid setup? If so, how do I test them?

For starters jack the rear wheel off the floor. Remove the seat. press the gas slowly by hand. You should hear the solenoid closest to the drivers side click 1st = no movement. then the solenoid next to it with tire movement, then the one next to it with increased tire speed and so on all across the bunch.

so if any solenoids audibly click but do not increase tire speed then they are faulty?

They may also not click at all... Other than the first main "click" each next click should equal an increase in tire speed...

Thanks. Is there any way to definitively test with a multimeter? I could be wrong but it seems just waiting for tire speed changes that it could be hard to identify exactly which units ate bad.

When the solenoid clicks (engages) it will make continuity across the big posts.

Great thanks, I'll get them tested after church. Is this something worth upgrading if replacement is required? I hate spending time and money to return any vehicle to stock

Replace with identical parts. There really are no upgrades for this system. There are replacement systems that are modern solid state drive.

Gotchya. I looked at your upgrade systems and am also considering upgrading to 48v too, it is just the game of budget and necessity.
