The ausco disk brakes are just for the rear, correct? Is there a system for hooking up front brakes on a txt?

That is correct, Jakes sells a kit for the front. You would need to look at their page to match your cart, I'm sure one of the site sponsors can assist you with this as well.

So took advice on the brakes and the Ausco's are on order. They will replace the rear drums, will have to see if additional fronts are fully needed. Of course 4 beats 2, but I will have to weigh the additional cost.

Per the controller, I have thought that would be the next weak link. I believe this weekend will be made for golf cart part shopping...

Disc rear brakes don't help much at all. Improved braking comes from installing discs on the front! You will just drag the rear tires on hard braking.

Certainly the whole cart community is stopping shorter faster with the improved rear disc braking.

I assume you just stating that adding front brakes is a better alternative yet, like how lithium battery packs are better than wet cell.

Stock rear brakes will lock up the rears. That is the max braking you are going to get without adding fronts.

My stock drum rears wont even lock up at all. I agree fronts are the best but rear discs have to be an improvement. Look at auto brake systems over the years.

By that logic, Corvettes should be running 4 wheel drum brakes, they will lock up. Just because a brake can lock up, does not mean it works at the best efficiency. I feel the ausco disks work better than drums on my lifted cart.

You don't ever want to lockup your brakes. Up until the time that they develop ABS for carts you need to pump your brakes to stop. It's the difference between static and dynamic friction.

Congrats, you will need to adjust them a little bit once they are on but you will like the difference.
