I tried an in-line spark tester. It did not light up when I turned it over.

I tried an in-line spark tester. It did not light up when I turned it over. Only spark I get is immediately after depressing the gas pedal.

At this point I'd start checking stuff that you may have taken for granted, such as the connections at the plug, the spark tester itself (can you get it to work with other vehicles?), the spark plug socket on the end of the coil (?).

Here’s the latest: New pulsing coil checks out ok. I did find that the micro switch connected to the wire leading to the rpm limiter is shot.

Side note: you said your exciter & pulsar coils are “brand new”. Might I ask where you found them?

is the spark plug wire shorted out, broken wire, you talk about everything else tested out ok, or new, and that the spark is intermittent. Just wondering IF there is a short/ break int eh plug wire itself or Bad/ broken connection at the plug end ??

also noted that it talked about a spring ?!?

Quote:
NOTE: When replacing CDI unit, remove the spark plug boot and spring to install the new CDI. If the spark plug boot or spring is damaged, they must be ordered individually.
can you test that there is Power coming from CDI unit to the Spark Plug Wire ??

Found the exciter/pulsing coil on eBay. Do a search on Club Car 1012521 and you should find the part.

I replaced the rpm limiter micro switch... Starts right up!

Thanks for all the help!
