Wide open or nothing
Gas Club Car. When you step on the gas peddle just lightly it accelerates wide open. There no slow or medium speed. I noticed a braided ground cable coming from black box that is connected to the engine block that was disconnected. Is that cable for the governor to work properly and my speed adjustability?

Gary,
I had this problem with mine just last week. It turns out that the throttle cable was binding up in the black box under the seat. I removed the throttle cable and it was very stiff to slide. I tried to lube it, but it didn't help. I replaced the throttle cable and the tooth gear that the cable seats in. Its fine now, except a new issue. See my post! Nathan |

Look in the carb make sure the butterfly isn't broke in half this will cause all or nothing if it's a new to you cart check to make sure the idle screw isn't cranked all the way down iv seen people do this thinking they were adjusting the governor

Is that braided ground cable that I found disconnected use for the rev limiter?
