Starter blows up.. brand new
Just put a new starter on my 98 club car carry all.. road for 10 mins and belt equalled and starter was smoking.. looks like it blew the brushes out of it.. brand new Starter?

His problem is someone moved some wires around on the key switch. These wires are to only be hot when the key is turned to start position, which now, are hot all the time now. This is causing the starter/gen to overheat and melt down. Your brushes look like this? |
