Rear suspension ?
Have a 2003 Txt. Upgraded it to 48 volts and installed an 8 hp motor. Runs great. The cart was leaning to the left (drivers side) and the front right shock looked bad. Changed out all the shocks as they were 15 years old. Still leaned. Replaced both rear leaf springs with HD ones (3 leafs). What a mistake. Like driving over large rocks. Took out the smallest leaf. Not much better. Took out the second one and it's ok. The cart is only used for golf. My question is this: What are the odds of the one leaf spring working? The better question would be, What are the odds of any problems with the one leaf in the leaf spring?
Thanks. |

Re: Rear suspension ?
As you've discovered, shocks do nothing but dampen bouncing. Driver's side sagging is fairly common, as many carts are predominantly driven with just the driver. I replaced both front and back springs with "HD", though I'm sure HD varies by maker. Mine feels fine on pavement, grass, gravel, dirt.
Others will have to comment on how safe is just one spring, which was designed to have two other helpers. |

Re: Rear suspension ?
Is the lean more in the rear or the front? It could be a worn out front spring causing this issue as well.
Any time I hear HD springs on anything besides a big diesel truck I say "PASS". You go from the cush ride of a worn out spring, to a brand new HD spring it's gonna not be a fun ride. I would run an old saggy spring with a longer shackle before I bought new springs. It may make the back sit lower, but when your riding it will feel 100% better! Shocks are a different story, good shocks are must. I need to get new shocks, but at my current speed a little bouncy ride aint too big of a deal. |

Re: Rear suspension ?
look into the dual action leaf springs. They're supposed to give you a stock ride, but they have an extra spring that comes into play, once you start putting weight into the cart.
https://express.google.com/u/0/produ...IaArgXEALw_wcB I just installed a set and the cart sits really nice, just haven't taken it for a ride to be able to tell you how it feels. |

Re: Rear suspension ?
Thanks for all the info. After changing rear leaf springs to HD and 4 new shocks, the cart height from ground through the middle of the rim up to the body is: Passenger front 22", Passenger rear 21 1/2". Drivers front 21 1/2" and drivers rear 21 1/8". Tire pressures are all the same. Going to go ahead and install standard leaf springs, try and sell the HD ones (only had one round on them). Then will look to see if anything on the frame is bent causing the lean. Thanks again.

Re: Rear suspension ?
Ill bet once you have new front and rear, your driver's side sag will go away, for a while.
