1997 G16 steering box
I have a 97 G16 and the steering is really sloppy. I don’t want to do the band aide fix and pack the box with grease. Does anyone know where I can get a new steering box?

On my G2 there are a couple of adjustments that can be made to help take up some of the slop. Mine had a fair amount, I packed it full of grease and then did the adjustments, it was a little stiff right at first but after several turns lock to lock it loosened up once the grease spread around. My steering box isn't perfect, but is night and day better than it was.
Just a thought, I found the adjustment procedure in the service manual for the G2, maybe the G16 has some similar adjustments? |
