Fe290 and fe350 gaskets and seals
I need to replace my gaskets and seals on my fe350 due to leaking oil. Are the FE290 and FE350 the same size? Crank shaft diameters the same? The full set for the fe350 are harder to find and pricier when I do find them.
Also, on the rear of the engine (the side near the transmission gearbox) near the bottom of the block there is a round plate held on by four nuts. What is this? |

Re: Fe290 and fe350 gaskets and seals
The plate held on with 4 nuts is the balance weight post, don’t remove that until the front case cover is off and you have access into the engine.
The majority of seals are the same between the two. The FE350 had two different heads and I believe the gasket is the same, but the head gasket is different than the 290 head gasket. That’s probably the only different gasket, the rest should be the same as far as I know. |

Re: Fe290 and fe350 gaskets and seals
I see that the crank case cover gasket has different part numbers for the fe350 and fe290., although they look identical in the photos.
Also different part numbers for the crank shaft seals (both the flywheel and clutch side). I will just pony up and order the individual gaskets for the fe350. |
