Default Wires Touched, No Longer Runs

Hey everyone. First time posting, but have received lots of help over the past couple of years just by reading.

I have a 36v EZGO (unsure of year) that I decided to add a battery meter to this weekend. It had no gauge before so it was all new wiring. Had everything up and running correctly until I went to take it out at night. All worked well except the main headlights no longer worked, however the orange daylight lamps still ran, although slightly dimmer.

I installed the meter through the ignition switch and started to readjust those wires to try and figure out what happened with the headlights. During this process I also unhooked the battery gauge and the + and - wires touched (I know, I know) and sparked. Since then the cart will not run. The same orange lights work, the reverse buzzer works, and the tail lights work as well. The solenoid was not clicking so I replaced that. Still same issues, including the no clicking.

I have tried all of the trouble shooting I know but am at a loss. I have unhooked and removed all wiring to the battery gauge. I am just wondering what could cause these issues. Ignition switch? Did I short out something. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

You may have fried the pedal box micro switch. This little switch is under the floor ( find access panel) and it activate the solenoid when you press the gas.

Tested the pedal box micro switch and that still works correctly. Any other suggestions?

When you press the gas there should be 36v measured between the 2 small posts on the solenoid. And the solenoid should click

If indeed this is a PDS cart and his reverse buzzer still works...shouldn't he be able to put cart in diagnostic mode?

I retested the solenoid and it does register the 36v when gas pressed, but still no click.

So I have continued to play with the wiring and i have figured out that if I run a jumper wire from the bottom small post on my solenoid to the positive of my main battery, it will work. What can that tell me about what is happening here?
