Default Need advice on rear end repair

Picked up a 2007 Club Car DS IQ 48 volt over the week end. No batteries or charger. Checked it over the best I could had a utility box on back so was not able to see motor and wiring.

Took a chance and put in some used batteries in it and it does run. Removed the utility box and inspection cover to get to motor and wiring.

BAD NEWS. Checked motor and rear. The housing that the motor bolts to has corroded so bad that the two top bolts that hold the motor are about gone.

I think my best option is find a used rear end assy. because of all the rust and corrosion on it. 13 years on the Eastern Shore.

My question is will a 1998 and up rear fit the cart?

Yes I was thinking the same think. Does not look very promising. I am surprised it running as good as it is. Took it down my driveway a few times (1/4 mile long) did just fine.

I just bought a 2006 for parts that the guy gave up on pulling the motor.
Its stuck pretty good. And it doesnt look that bad everywhere else.
If and when you do get it out,put some antiseize on the splines

I would like to find a complete rear before I start on it. Will see what comes up. I have a WTB in the parts form. Just found one complete but it is in New Jersey just a little to far and I hate going north.

Yes I know about never seize. Used it a lot when I was working.
