Crazy question with adding winch to CC Precendent
I have an electric 110v ceiling winch I'm no longer using. Is there a way I can hook it up to my 48 v CC Precedent, (electrically speaking)?

Use a 48v to 110v inverter.

Re: Crazy question with adding winch to CC Precendent
Just make sure the inverter puts out enough amps to run winch. My winch is max 440 Lb lift and it is rated at 3.9 amps at 460 watts. So a pure sine wave 600 watt inverter should work. Do not use a square wave inverter they don’t work very well with an AC motor.

Crazy question with adding winch to CC Precendent
You can get an inverter from 12v up to 48v. I would get the 48v inverter. If you just use one battery it will cause an imbalance in your batteries and shorten the life of all your batteries. Hope I answered your question.
Edit: you would hook up the inverter across the 48v pack. Make sure you turn inverter off when not using because they do draw current when on. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: Crazy question with adding winch to CC Precendent
You know I have been thinking about your question. I was looking on harbor freight web site. You can buy a winch made for 12 volt system for a lot less then what it would take to modify a 110v winch with all the parts you would need. Just my thoughts, although if you like the challenge to modify the 110 winch it could be fantastic. Take lots of pictures and post them here I am sure other members would enjoy seeing them in your build.
