Default 30+mph ezgo

New user here, hopefully I am doing this correctly...
I have a 2014 RXV, 14" rims, newer body, lights, etc. I bought it after it was upgraded in 2018. It currently goes 24mph. The place that did the original upgrades has a "performance package" that will increase speed over 30mph.
Cost is $500 and takes about an hour. They won't say what they do.
Questions: will the upgrade greatly decreases the longevity of the cart? Is that a reasonable price? Thanks!

There’s no way I would shell out that kind of money to not even know what they did. Seems criminal to me that they won’t tell you. Likely they’re doing some kind of controller programming if it only takes an hour.

The RXVs with Curtis controllers can be tuned for 30+mph but it takes the right guy with the right programing station/software. (Bob Boyce) This is not available to dealers far as I know.
Thru this forum, I have heard of some dealers/shops claiming to be able to program the controllers but it hasn't been done correctly and results in controller failure after a time.$$$
Bob Boyce did my RXV in Nov of 2018. 32+MPH with better regen braking and adjusted acceleration available. These days you have to get the cart and Mr Boyce together so where you are located is very important.
The fact that they won't tell you what they are doing is a giant red flag for me. $500 is rediculous.

A Navistas controller is another option if you are located outside of the southeast.
