Pot box question
I just tested the potentiometer on my '92 EZGO Marathon. With the pedal fully depressed it reads just over 8K ohms. It should top out at 5K. I know a little slack is acceptable but how much is too much?

Re: Pot box question
Some controllers shut down when they see more than about 7kΩ. The Curtis 1204 used in Marathons is one of those.
Try to adjust it down to no more than 6kΩ. |

Re: Pot box question
I replaced the stock controller with an Alltrax 48500 last year when I upgraded to 48v. Not sure what the max tolerance is for that, but I figured out a solution. Rather than take the pot box apart and try to adjust it internally, I replaced the linkage to the pedal with a longer bolt. Now it maxes out at 5.8k with the pedal to the floor.
