Lester summit 2 detecting wrong voltage
So I have a cart here with 6 of the US battery us2200’s. So a 36v pack. My old charger crapped out so I picked up a Lester summit 2 and in the app it reads 48v detected but it’s a 36 volt pack. The batteries are off gassing like crazy and you can hear insane amounts of bubbling.

Re: Lester summit 2 detecting wrong voltage
Is there a way to turn off the auto voltage detect? If not, contact Lester and get some troubleshooting help. I have that charger but I have only used it on a 48V cart.

Re: Lester summit 2 detecting wrong voltage
I would then check the connection from the charge plug to the batteries. A bad connection could cause a faulty voltage reading when charge current is present.

Re: Lester summit 2 detecting wrong voltage
Check the voltage the charger's actually delivering to the batteries. I had that same charger and used it with 36 volt batteries. The app never worked correctly. It would always start by telling me I had a 48 volt system (even though I programmed it for 36). But it would deliver the correct voltage (somewhere between 38 and 46 depending on the SOC). It would also tell me that I had three or so more hours of charging, then shut off after ten minutes and declare the batteries fully charged.
I think the charger was acting correctly but feeding me the wrong info. Disconcerting to say the least. |
