Using Ryobi 18v Batteries in 36v Golf Cart
Has anyone tried powertool or lawnmower batteries as replacements for golf cart batteries?
A golf cart lithium battery I saw was 10ah. There are some powertool batteries that come close to that or a couple run in parallel. Example: using 4x 18v/6ah batteries configured for 36v/12ah. I could see it only running for like an hour, but faster as it would be much less weight. Any thoughts? |

You are way off. Minimum AH for a cart is 60AH with Lithium at 48V. You won't be able to pull enough current from any reasonable setup with power tool batteries. (300 amps peak minimum)

That's the example I give anytime someone comes in my shop with 3 12 volt cranking batteries in a golf cart and can't figure out why it won't run more than 10 minutes!
