84 marathon won't rev up
I have been restoring an '84 marathon and now cannot get it to run. It ran fine after I purchased this summer, but one day it just got very hard to get to move. Have replaced the fuel pump, crab, fuel line, and spark plug. The engine turns from the starter and is getting compression around 120psi. It even fires and smokes but I cannot get it to rev high enough to engage the clutch. Am running fresh 50:1 from a portable gas can.

check the pickup in the fuel tank. it sound like it has a restriction in the fuel flow.

Check the pipe to see if it's cloged--Bar-BQ

I have it running from a gas can with the fuel line hanging into it, I know the fuel pump is working B/C I hooked it up to a clear hose and could see the level rising before I hooked it to the carb. I also took of the exhaust and it seemed to be clear, I was able to blow through it easily. Could it be to do with the igniter or coil?

there is a remote possibility of that but I would look for restriction somewhere like the muffler or carb etc
