Default Low on power

I have a 2001 ezgo workhorse st350, recently rebuilt robin 350 engine with 150-155psi compression, new fuel pump, and stock size belt. It starts fine but dosent seem to rev up very high and may top out at about 5mph, very slow. Any help would be greatly app. thanks

Have you checked that the governor is adjusted properly?
With the key off press the gas pedal to see if the throttle on the carb is opening all of the way.
If it is you need to adjust the gov. tension.

kinda sounds like you may have a clutch issue that's not letting it work right

I was thinking since it wasn't getting high revs it would be the governor, high revs and slow speed would be more of a clutch not cycling issue.

Timing adjustment can be found in the tech forum. It still sounds like a clutch prob... Just sounds like a clutch isn't proplerly operating. Liftin the rear wheels and accelerating to watch clutch operation is a start.
