Re: 10-w30 in precedent rear end?
On my last change I used synthetic gear oil (70W I think). Its an older cart with lots of golf miles so I elected to protect the gears with a proper gear lubricant - there's barely over a cup or two in there; so worrying about how light the oil is becomes pretty moot after you drive 100 yards or so.

Fill it until it starts coming out of the fill hole

Re: 10-w30 in precedent rear end?
I changed my rear end oil today and draining it was easy. Why they make a fill hole on the side makes no sense. After failed attempts to use a funnel I got wise and found a empty tire slime bottle. I put the oil in the bottle stuck the tube in the hole and squeezed, worked great. I used royal purple like everyone said but I was real close to giving up and getting gear oil if for no other reason than the end of the bottle would fit in the hole. How did everyone else get oil in there?

I put around 22-23 oz back in. Does that sound right?
