Default Re: Slow Moving

I removed the clutch assembly today and opened her up, what a mess...
I was able to get it cleaned up reasonably well but found the main spring is broken, where can I get a used one? Is it worth going new for any type of performance or speed gain?
The weights move very free and the clutch now travels very smoothly with a consistent feeling resistance. Everything looks good and smooth with no pits or divits so I'm going to give it a try but think a used spring would be better to try at this point, what do you think??

http://www.cartpartsplus.com/ezgo-cl...ng-spring.html Try this link ph2ocraft. It is a tuning spring for that clutch. It isn't a stock spring but will suffice w/o buying a new clutch.. The only difference is the resistance the spring has. The spring in the link is designed to let the engine idle without the clutch engaging. The kit can be bought with an optional turn key jumper for the micro.. Hope this helps ya... While your checkin clutches you might want to pull the driven clutch also and check out those buttons.... Good Luck and Happy Cartin'

This is what I found but after putting it in the cleaner it turned out nice (should have taken a photo).
I bought a used clutch from a member here and am going to use it if this clutch doesn't work.
Thanks for the link, that's perfect.
Funny thing is I just took out a by-pass the guy had, throw a toggle switch and the electric motor was running. Problem was the wiring was poor and not fused off the battery. It was fun pulling the pedal box apart and making it funtional off the pedal start.
With the 2 clutch assemblies I can decide which I prefer.

Thanks for all your guidance, it's coming around.

I'm taking the driven clutch off today, hope it fairs better than the clutch. LOL
