change piston rings
I have a 1995 E-Z-GO GTX Workhorse, D804D, code D0695 with an EH35C engine. I measure low compression in both cylinders (95Ppsi/100psi). I put 1/2 ounce of oil in each cylinder -compression measured 190/165. Initial complaint was loss of power under any kind of load.
The manual I have does not shows steps in removal of the cylinders and installing a new set of rings. Any help? Thanks! |

Re: change piston rings
Your engine is 15 yrs old. You can try to ring it but chances are that when you get it torn down and yes you will split the case to remove the pistons... you will find a very worn engine. They are not the best prospects for rebuilding as the rods have no bearings and they often swap metal with the crank.... Just a thought...
