1990 G2 slow pickup
My G2 seems to have a very slow pickup at low speed but has a pretty good top end. I have eliminated the govenor, cleaned the carb and it has a new KN filter. Plug is showing a nice brownish tint to it. Maybe a belt or a different spring in the clutch will help? This is my first cart so I am still learning.

#1 Check your belt for excessive wear and replace if needed. #2 Clean your primary clutch, look for worn parts and replace any and lube #3 You can gain low end torque with a new torque spring on your secondary clutch. #4 Look for excessive wear on your clutch faces. Several on here recommend resurfacing if they are worn badly. I had a problem with the snap ring that holds the secondary clutch in position on the shaft. It had worn the groove and allwed the clutch to slip out of position. I highly recommend a torque spring but be sure to get the splined collar with it. If you do have a problem with the snap ring, the collar will replace it. |
