Ran for a mile on level ground? Does it recover, that is to say if you leave it for 10 minutes or overnight will it run correctly for another mile. The fact that it doesn't quit completely leads me to look to a fuel starvation issue and for this there can be many causes which we can identify and correct.

The solenoid is a constant duty device so it will get warm. If someone has fitted a regular automobile solenoid you will have an issue as they are not designed to stay energized.

Also if you ran the cart on level ground then you will not notice the effect of a shorter belt. The belt comes into play when you climb hills.

Looks like alot of air in fuel line. Just dont run right after it gets warmed up. Any ideas. "Change plug?" "change coil?""Could wiring be switched at solenoid?""Replace Fuel pump?"

Did you take a compression reading when it is
running poorly?
What color is the plug then?
How hot is hot?
