Default EZGO Marathon Charging issues

Hello. I am having issues charging my EZGO Marathon. It was doind fine for a while it would charge and then run about 3 hours before dying. Now I cannot get it to take a charge. When I plug the charger in the ampheres go all the way up and the batteries begin to warm up. It was running fine up until now. This is the first EZGO I have owned and am very unfamiliar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome Charles, The problem you are describing is usually caused by one or more 'bad' batteries. You will need a voltmeter and a hydrometer for batteries; the needle type not the floating balls type. Then you can test individual voltage and specific gravity. Post that info here and we can what you are working with battery-wise.

I replaced 1 battery about a month ago. Is it possible for all other 5 batteries to go bad in that time period? I used the voltmeter as suggested and only the new battery showed 5.9. Thanks

5.9 is well below what we consider empty or 50% depleted. What do the other batteries read?

Also 1 new battery in an old pack is soon drug down to the value of the rest of the pack.....
