You can use any car battery. It will work just fine.

I would use the 8240 myself, this battery has much more reserve capacity and 250 more cold cranking amps. It will probably last a very long time in your cart and degrade less over long storage. In addition you won't have to change your cable ends .

A replacement 8490 is $90 and the 8229 is on sale for $27.
Thinking about selling the cart since I getting ready to head over seas for a year and replace it when I get back with a Ranger or Mule. |
