it starts at 20 or so amps and than it drop to 5 amps and it last about 2 hours

Hi.., It depends on the type of ezgo charger you are using. Mine is manual one and which is 36-volt/25 amp manual charger Lester model #9611 with Lester 2 prong molded plug. Please give the details and type of ezgo charger you are using. So that we can assist you.
