I have the (4) 12v and they work fine for my usage. It all depends on what you will be using the cart for.

I have a 2005 that had 12v batteries, they worked ok, but when it was time to buy new batteries I had a conversion done to 6/8 volt batteries, glad i did it. There is a new sticky up top that is a how to diy conversion you might want to look at that.
