I would start with the belt, thats the heart of the drive-system.A worn belt will kill it.Remember, its' only 11hp,24" might be pushing it a little.Wait and see if some other Yami-Guys respond, but I think you may be happier with 22"s or doing some other upgrades to get more power(Big-Block!!).

Belt, you have to get the cvt working right to even get that 9hp to the ground. I would recommend you clean and lube both clutches and put a new belt on. You might want to try the kevlar one from CPP, I just bought one and it looks promising. Since I'm welding in the mount for a clone engine I can't try it right now but its cool looking and a hair wider. It goes out the top of my secondary, its cogged top and bottom, like a utv belt. Next thing is see if you have a tension cable I forget if those do, it is under the generator it takes the engine torque so the engine can't move on the mounts. The torque will pull the engine to the trans, needless to say that screws up the shifting it will bog on takeoff. Worn belt will bog on takeoff too. Do that stuff and see where you are at then. If no cable then you have to check the engine mounts and make sure it can't move toward the trans under heavy throttle. Tightening the cable helps takeoff but at a point it cuts top speed, it is like a shorter belt. I gps my cart until it lost speed and then backed it off, seemed like an ideal way to setup the tension cable.

Beyond all that you would love a clone engine, its like twice the power everywhere.

This is their "severe duty" belt. It starts out very high in the secondary--it sticks out above the top of the sheave, and works much better than the stock belt.

Need to put in a torque spring and spacer. Believe G16's have no motor mounts, bolt directly to the swing arm.
