Default ScottyB do you have the brush guards, that are pictured on your cart

I am not saying I want to go crazy in the woods, but I would like to protect front stuff and that looks like a like brush guard

are they spensive? cheaper than a new axle?

thanks Chris

I assume your talking about the "pre-runner" style front bumper on Scotty's cart. They are part of an independant front suspension, usually made by companies like Strech Plastics or Terra Toys.

Not sure which one Scotty's is. But as I recall both companies have kinda gotten out of this line of business.... guess the tooling & manufacturing just wasn't paying off when the economy started to tank. You still see the kits around occasionally though.... watch Craigslist & Ebay. They usually go for around $800 - $1000.

So since mine has a front Drive axle I would be better off fabricating a guard that attached to the rood trusses and front basket?

or am I being too protective since I finnally got everything working right-(except the headlights, But I WILL find out why)

any suggestions?

My Son and Neighbor have welders, the first thing son is making is a New rifle/shotgun rack for me- I want it off the Floor- it is in the way and makes it hard to get to forward and reverse switch- and I have a hard time straightning my right leg

I think we are just going to take the one that mounts to the floor and weld two L shaped braces to the end of the bracket and bolt that to the Steel basket/ on the roof of the cart- any other suggestions would be appreciated

It looks good the way it is... I would not add anymore weight to it than absolutely necessary.

csport, If you are near a Bad Boys Buggies distibuter, go check out the new Ambush they came out with. The brush guard I saw on it went all the way down and protected the axle somewhat.. Plus it is a beast of a machine The one I saw had a 16hp Briggs twin for the rear wheels and a 48 volt electric setup for the front. Here are some pics http://www.badboybuggies.com/sport/ambush.html

I'm gonna start saving my pennies for an XD. Similar to the Mules but a 3 cyl diesel...

Here is Me in the cart, you can see the offending rifle rack- You cant see the cast and two giant knee braces
this is why I want it on the underside of the roof

The next pict is the over look

One is at the top of one of those ridges

this is the river crosssing

and the last is maybe why my rear bearing went out

Didn't mean to choke you there big guy, just wanted to show you the new toys. Mainly was just wondering if that brush guard would fit on yours with a few mods... IF you can buy one yet. They may not have parts out..
