The new batteries are definitely a biiig improvement!! They are on charge #2 right now. Nice to not have to worry about getting back home to charge batteries. The off grid information I was reading seemed to pretty much follow your teachings, so when I saw the false capacity paragraph it matched my problem and also answered my question so thought I would post it to share with others. I know from reading here, the importance of proper breakin and will be following it to a "T". Thanks again - RAY

I suspect you might be right.

Full disclosure:
Scotty's morning coffee must not have been fully kicked in when he originally wrote the stuff he had cut&pasted and he had divided the equalization voltage for a 48V pack by the number of cells in a 36V pack, so the volts per cell was high. The voltages in the post are now based on 24 cells in a 48V pack.

Not disparaging Scotty, he has caught many of my fumbled finger entries and oversights. So have you.

I was able to get some help correcting it last night! As the edit time limit had passed... When you divide 64v by the correct # of cells the equalizing voltage comes to a civilized 2.66. Thanks for the correction. Whats next?
